Series Spotlight #3: If I Stay Series by Gayle Foreman

Welcome to a new feature called Series Spotlight that we hope to do semi regularly on the blog. This space is for featuring a series that has us hooked and gushing and we want to spread the love!

The next series under the spotlight is:

If I Stay Series by Gayle Forman

I read the first book If I Stay just before the movie version was released so I could go see it without worrying that I had ruined the actual reading experience first.  I absolutely loved it and boy for a 200 page book it really packed a lot of punch.  I loved the music references, the relationship Mia has with her parents and the way this one was written moving from past to present tense was perfect allowing you to have sweet fun memories mixed in amongst the hard teary stuff.

Book 2 I think I liked even more – I really loved this one from Adam’s perspective and finding out what happens to both of them after the huge events that happen in the first book.  Gayle Foreman managed to show Adam both broken and vulnerable but still keep you liking him which I think is an incredibly hard feat to manage.  If you read and loved the first book it is definitely worth picking up the second instalment though If I Stay is definitely a good stand alone novel too.

Have you read this series and do you love it as much as I do?  I would love to hear your thoughts!
