#BTCYA Loot! Thanks @harpercollinsya <3

Welcome to the thirty-fifth episode of the Tea in the Treetops podcast hosted by Philippa and Angelya.

Are you a new listener? Welcome! You might like to listen to our new three-minute intro to find out about who we are and what you can expect to hear on the podcast.

In this episode, we had a bit of an equipment failure, in that our recorder ran out of batteries part-way through! It’s a short episode again this week, but we talk about our second blogaversary giveaway, about the Between the Covers event in Brisbane and about the series Angelya has been re-reading in preparation for upcoming releases. This episode was recorded on November 5th, 2015.

We hope you enjoy listening and we would love to hear your feedback – anything you would like us to talk about in particular? Just let us know!

You can listen to past episodes of the podcast, as well as the various ways to subscribe on the main podcast page.

Our title music is titled Sea of Dreams and has been used with the kind permission of the composer, Bart Stoop. You can hear more of Bart’s beautiful music at facebook.com/BartStoop.

Topics:

Between the Covers – Harper Collins YA event in Brisbane. They’re also holding them in Sydney and Melbourne this month – check the link for details! Brisbane’s special guest was Gabrielle Tozer, winner of the Gold Inky award for 2015! Congratulations! Thanks to Amanda, Tim and Terry for a great night.

His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman is to be made into a TV series for BBC One. The film version was… not our favourite.

Photos from the set of the film of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Harry Potter universe). Due for release Nov 2016.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens releasing Dec 17. The trailer is SO AWESOME!

I was totally trying to clean my office/library/unreasonable amount of book storage area while taking a stretch break from reading ‘Winter’ the majority of today and decided to flip on your most recent podcast for inspiration. The cleaning endeavor was successful until I heard you mention my name in relation to audiobook series re-reads and then all hope was lost. Totally felt like a rock star in the blog comment world, haha. I’m big in Japan!

I think audiobooks are great as supplemental reading if you have the time and space for it in your life. Long SOLO commute or time alone while doing domestic mundanity. Otherwise it would take forever to get through books. I don’t think I could handle the pace as well for something I was really itching to read and because I read so fast. I would get way too impatient.

Hope y’all love Winter when you get around to devouring it. The launch party, I mean Lunar Ball, for Marissa Meyer’s tour was last eveing and I attended it with friends. So much fun! She had a fan fiction contest and the winner got to attend the lunar ball in Tacoma, WA last night. Marissa Meyer loved the re-telling of Princess and the Pea so much she said it felt like canon and something she could have wrote it herself for this series. I’ve only read a portion of it, because of Winter, but this is the link if you didn’t know it existed: http://thelunarchronicles.com/modal/13/fanfiction-winner-bug/contest-winners/

Haha, you’re basically our number one fan at this point so thanks xD
Omg that Lunar Ball sounds amazing! Just got Winter on my kindle tonight so I’m about to go get stuck into it. Can’t wait! (Then fanfictions after, hehe)
