Whoops, it’s already well into December, and I seem to have forgotten to wrap up November!
I read four books in November, plus half of Unearthed. I went to two launches, finished my uni subject and managed to survive the busy month at work. Phew.
The launch for The Silver Well by Kate Forsyth and Kim Wilkins was at Avid Reader at West End on Nov 29. These are two awesome Aussie fantasy authors and fairytale scholars, and I can’t wait to get stuck into this series of short stories set around the village of Cerne Abbas in England. It sounds terrifying and sad and amazing.
The second launch was the Brisbane launch for Unearthed, with Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner on December 1. They’re both excellent speakers so it was a joy to listen to them describe their writing processes and inspirations. Then the Dark Days (book) club went out for dumplings afterwards.
I seem to have acquired a lot more books than I actually read this month. How are there so many amazing books coming out around now?
Philippa and I didn’t get to record during November, but TTT podcast ep 59 will be out very shortly.
I hope you had a fantastic November!
