Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! This weekly shared “meme” has a different theme each week and is shared by many blogs. We’re aiming to come up with ten things between us each week so they won’t be in any particular order!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted at The Broke and the Bookish. For a list of past and future Top Ten Tuesday topics and to find out more about Top Ten Tuesday, click here!
Okay so it’s Valentine’s Day this weekend, and if you’re currently unattached, or if you’ve been together so long that the biggest marketing day of the year (after Christmas) doesn’t mean so much anymore, you need a swoony romantic story to get your fill, right?! Here’s ten of our all-time favourite swoons!
Top Ten Romantic Tales
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Of course, who doesn’t love Mr Darcy? Even though he was a complete arse to Lizzie for most of the book, his turnaround towards the end is just so endearing you can’t help but swoon. Perfect time for a re-read (or a BBC series re-watch, perhaps?)!
–Philippa, Angelya and Natasha
2. Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
Claire Randall travels back in time to the 1700s in Scotland, and falls right in to the arms of Jamie Fraser. SWOON

3. Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
Okay, if you read our Queen of Shadows review you’ll know that I (Ang) am an unapologetic Chaol fan, but Philly is all for Rowan. We all have our preferences, am I right? 😀
4. The Rephaim series by Paula Weston
Gaby and Rafa have a strange hot/cold relationship throughout this series but it’s just so sizzling when they are together. Extra points for the Queensland setting!
-Ang and Philly
5. Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
The ultimate slow-burning romance, it takes seven books for Ron and Hermione to finally get together. But it was worth it!
-Natasha
6. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
Tamlin and Feyre – so hot right now.
7. The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Pretty much everyone in this series is associated with a swoony love story. If there had been enough romantic moments in Winter for me, it would have been a lot longer than 824 pages! Hurry up and read it, Philly!
-Ang
8. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Philippa has been reading this series recently and enjoying the romance between Kestrel and Arin!
9. The Selection series by Keira Cass
Philippa’s latest binge-read, America and Maxon are the swoony couple in this one. Listen to our Podcast ep 38 to hear her reaction to reading this series!
10. The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
And in tenth place, how could we go past the Shadowhunters themselves? Jace may be a grumpy bastard most of the time, but he has some very lovely romantic moments with Clary. Not to mention the countless swoony moments between Alec and Magnus! Actually Simon and Isabelle get pretty damn cute as well. Everyone gets a ship!
